SUNAMGANJ: BNP observed half-day hartal in the district demanding the trace of missing UK expatiate BNP leader Mujibur Rahman Mujib.

Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies were seen picketing at different places and on the roads of the district town including Traffic Point, Kalibari Point, Ukilpara Point, Bok Point and Wegkhali.

Sunamganj Model Thana Officer-In-Charge Jane Alam Khan told banglanews, “Additional police were deployed at the town’s strategic points to remain the law and order situation normal.”

Hartal was observed at all upazilas including Dirai, Chatok, and Tahirpur peacefully.

No clash was reported in the district.

On May 4, UK expatiate Mujib along with his car driver Sohel have gone missing on their way home to Sylhet from Sunamgaj.

District BNP called the hartal for Sunday demanding immediate rescue of them.
