BAGERHAT: An Awami League activist was killed in mob beating in Bagerhat soon after he stabbed a BNP man to death in Gemarta Madrasa Bazar area under Sadar upazila of the district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Abul Kalam Azad, 25, JCD union Joint - General Secretary and Rajib, 18, an AL activist.

Sources said that ruling Awami League and Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal leaders and activists locked in a clash at around 10:45am.

Following the clash Rajib along with some others miscreants attacked on Azad at Brishnopur area on the noon, leaving him dead; they added. Later locals lynched Rajib on the spot.

Bagerhat Model Thana Officer-in-Charge Ali Azam Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
