JP to stay on streets, says Ershad

DHAKA: Jatiya Party chairman, also former president, HM Ershad on Wednesday declared that his party took to the streets and would stay there until they assume power.

Ershad made the announcement while addressing a human chain organized by the party in front of the National Press Club in the morning protesting Israel attack on Gaza.

Addressing the protest program, Ershad said, “No parties, those claimed to be the party of Islamic values, are not seen staging movement on the streets protesting Gaza attack. They do not hold the Islamic values; in fact, JP is a party of Islamic values.”

“The people of Gaza are not alone, we are with them,” he added urging the countrymen and people from all walks of life across the world to be united against the attack.

JP protest program turned into a big one, causing traffic congestion in the adjacent areas.

JP Secretary General Ziauddin Bablu, Presidium Member, also Water Resources Minister Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Presidium Member Syed Abu Hossain Babla MP and Ershad’s Press and Political Secretary Sunil Shuvo Roy were among others present at the human chain.
