DHAKA: Argument against war crimes suspect and former state minister Syed Mohammad Kaiser ended on Thursday.
The three-member International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 led-by Justice Obaidul Hasan asked the defense lawyer to place their argument in the noon.
Prosecutor Turin Afroz and Tapash Kanti Bal presented the argument in the court.
On July 23-24 and August 4-5, Prosecutor Rana Das Gupta placed the argument.
After presenting arguments against Kaiser on 16 accusations Rana said they proved the involvement of Kaiser in the cases and they demanded capital punishment of him.
The tribunal will pronounce the verdict after the completion of defense arguments.
Following an order of the ICT, police arrested Kaiser, also a former Jatiya Party leader, on May 16 from around the Apollo Hospitals premises.
As Kaiser was admitted to the hospital, police forces were deployed there. He received treatment under police custody.
On May 20, police produced him before the ICT after the hospital authorities released Kaiser.
