DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing Committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah alleged that the incumbent government has been running without opposition party which is unusual for democracy.
He made the remarks while addressing a discussion on “Proposed! National Broadcast Policy and Future of Democracy” organized by Bangladesh Nationalist Workers Dal in Press Club Conference Lounge on Friday noon.
While delivering speech as a chief guest, Rafiqul said there is mist about the members of the broadcast Commission. He also claimed that the government made the law for their own interest.
The government also got chance to suppress journalists as they are divided in several issues, he added.
Advisor to BNP Chairperson Shamsuzzaman Dudu said the black Broadcast Policy would be thrown into the bin as the Awami-led government would not be in power after some days.
Chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist workers Dal Hazi Md Liton presided over the program where its founder general secretary Altaf Hossain Sarder was also present.
