DHAKA: Protesting the formulation of national broadcast policy, which might allegedly snatch the freedom of press, the BNP-led 20-party alliance will stage demonstration in the capital on August 19.
Besides, demanding scrap of the broadcast policy, the alliance will also hold a silent procession with black-flag across the country on August 16 to register their protest against the Israeli offensive in Gaza Strip.
A BNP standing committee member, after Sunday’s meeting of the committee with the party chief, informed banglanews.
He said that BNP is also planning to hold month-long programs to mark the party’s founding anniversary, starting from September 1.
He, however, said the programme will be finalised on Monday at the meeting of the top leaders of the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
Besides, Party Chief might visit a couple of district before Eid-ul-Adha to make the root united.
Earlier, the BNP chairperson talked with party’s standing committee members at a meeting in her Gulshan Office for two hours starting from around 8:30pm.
Among others, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Tariqul Islam, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Jamiruddin Sarker, Rafiqul Islam Miah and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy attended the meeting.
