DHAKA: BNP-led 20-party alliance will hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the city on August 19 protesting government’s National Broadcast Policy-2014.
The alliance will bring out black flag-procession across the country on August 16, beginning in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan office at 3:00pm on the day.
The alliance leaders will also observe mass contact campaign from August 21 to August 30.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcements at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan office on the noon after a meeting with the general secretaries of its allies.
BNP also announced month-long agenda for September including holding discussion, hoisting party flag atop at the party offices to mark its founding anniversary.
At the press brief, Fakhrul said, “At the meetings, the parties and the alliance leaders has strongly condemned the Israel attack on Gaza and demanded immediate cessation of the attack.”
The leaders also expressed sympathy to the bereaved families those lost their dear ones in the Padma launch capsize and called for taking necessary measures so that the workers would retune to workplace, Fakhrul added.
