DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia greeted Turkey’s newly elected president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In a letter, the BNP chief thanked Justice and Development Party (AKP) leader for his win in the popular election for Presidency for the first time in Turkey’s history.
The BNP chair, in the letter, hoped that Erdogan’s overwhelming victory will inspire him to step forward to Turkey’s development.
This election result is also recognition to Erdogan’s experience and wisdom, the letter added.
This 60-year old AKP leader, earlier, served his nation as a mayor of Istanbul and later as prime minister of the country.
Mentioning Bangladesh’s historic relations with Turkey, Khaleda said that this relation is established on mutual respect and universal values.
The BNP leader, in the letter, also prayed for happiness and prosperity of Turkish people as well as Erdogan’s better health and longer life.
