DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday framed charge against 147 leader-activists of 18-party, including BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and former opposition chief whip Zainul Abdin Farroque, over vandalism in front of BNP central office.
Magistrate Tarek Mainul Islam of Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal passed the order after hearing.
Advocate Sanaullah Miah and Joynal Abedin Mejhbah moved for the defenders.
Most of the accused including Rizvi, Farroque, JSD president Shafiul Alam pradhan were present during the indictment order.
On May 10, 2013 police submitted charge-sheet against 45 people including Fakhrul in a case filed over vehicle torching in front of PMO.
On March 11, 2013, police detained 154 BNP men over their involvement in cocktail explosions and violence in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan office.
On March 24, police submitted charge-sheet against 148 BNP and 18-party alliance men to a Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in a case related to the explosion and violence.
