DHAKA: The human chain program, declared by BNP-led 20-party alliance for Saturday to mark the ‘International Day of the Disappeared’ is going to be deferred to September 2.
A leader of metropolitan unit BNP, wishing anonymity, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police is yet to permit 20-party to hold the demonstration in front of Jatiya Press Club.
Later, the alliance had shifted the venue to Nightingale Intersection adjacent to BNP Nayapaltan office. But DMP did not change its decision. So, the alliance was forced to postpone its pre-scheduled prog, the leader added.
But any senior leader of the 20-party did not confirm the matter to banglanews till Friday night.
But the sources said that changed schedule of the programme will be declared in a press conference at BNP central office around 11:00am on Saturday.
On August 25, BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi declared the human chain programme.
