DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL) has submitted its audit report of 2012-13 fiscal year to the Election Commission (EC) in the city on Sunday noon.
A four-member team, on behalf of the party, submitted the report to the EC additional secretary Mokhlesur Rahman.
The report shows that the party earned Tk 12.40-crore while it spent Tk 6.70-crore last year.
After submitting the report, AL office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap told media that the party earned most amount of total income from the selling of nomination papers during the past national polls.
We earned TK 6.52-crore by selling 2,680 nomination forms in 2013, he added.
He further said that they also earned money from the enrolment of general members and contribution from the party’s central committee.
According to the AL leader, the expenditures include publications and publicities cost, meetings, seminars and residential and refreshment bills.
However, a total of 35 parties have already submitted their audit reports while four have yet to do this.
