BNP calls half-day hartal in Bogra for Thursday

BOGRA: The 20-party alliance led by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) called half-day hartal protesting the incident over the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s appearance before makeshift court at Dhaka Alia Madrasa premises.

Bogra district Jamaat-e-Islam secretary Mazedur Rahman Jewel, district Islami Akkyajot president Engineer Shamsul Haque and district Chattra Dal vice-president Ferdous Azam Suman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The alliance sources said they called the shutdown protesting the police repression on BNP leaders and activists in Dhaka.

The vehicles of newspaper, media, ambulance, fire service unit and law enforcers will remain out of the purview of the hartal.
