DHAKA: Ruling party MP Enamul Haque, elected from Rajshahi-4 constituency, has challenged Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), the graft watchdog of the country.
The ruling party lawmaker after the interrogation of ACC said, “I am a renowned businessman. I joined in politics from business career.”
Targeting the ACC, he said, “I had no illegal assets. I can challenge it.”
“My properties may increase but not in an unusual way”, he added.
Earlier in the day, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) quizzed MP Enamul Haque for his alleged involvement in attaining assets illegally.
MP Enamul is being interrogated by deputy director of ACC Jatan Kumar Roy from 10:00am at ACC main office Segunbagicha in the city.
According to the affidavit, the annual income of MP Enamul was Tk 20 lakhs in 2008 which now Tk 50 Lakhs.
