DHAKA: Bangladesh’s cultural heritage is safe in the tenure of Awami League. On the other hand, BNP destroys the culture when the party comes in power.
Railways Minister Mujibul Haque came up with the remark as chief guest at a program of Artist Journalist Foundation of Bangladesh at the national museum in city on Tuesday evening.
The minister said that the culture of the country was hostage to Pakistan regime before the independence of Bangladesh.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman recovered the culture from them, he added.
He also said that BNP founder Ziaur Rahman wanted to destroy the cultural heritage of the country.
According to him, the art, literature and culture are safe in the tenure of Awami League government.

At the event, the organizers distributed awards in film, TV drama, music, dance, journalism and other categories.
Awami Juba League chairman Omar Faruk Chowdhury, AJFB founding chairman Abul Hossain Majumder, among others, spoke at the program.
