DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to meet her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, for the first time in New York.
Sources told banglanews on Thursday that the first meeting between the two PM will be held on the sidelines of the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that is scheduled to begin on September 16 there in United States.
But, when the neighbouring Prime Ministers will seat -- is yet to be known, sources added.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Bangladesh permanent representative to the UN AK Abdul Momen said that we have been confirmed about the meeting but the timetable is yet to be decided.
It is expected that our long-pending issues will be raised there, he added.
However, Sheikh Hasina is expected to undertake a weeklong visit to the United States from September 21 to attend the UNGA while Narendra Modi will reach there on September 26.
Both of them will attend the general assembly on September 27, besides joining different forums.
