RANGPUR: Jatiya Party (JP) leader Moshiur Rahman Ranga claimed that he became chairman of the party’s Rangpur district and city units through a party council.
Ranga, who has been removed from his presidium post, added that he holds the post until the next party council elects new chief.
The JP leader told media at Rangpur Circuit House on Monday morning.
Besides, he threatened that leaders of new JP committee would not be allowed to the district headquarters.
Ranga said he did not get any letter from the party regarding his removal from the posts.
“Even I was not informed about the reformation of JP’s Rangpur district and city committees,” the newsmen were told.
According to the JP leader, a group of middlemen are trying to fulfil their vested interest by creating division in the party.
He thinks that there is no conflict between HM Ershad and Raushan in the party.
