DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman on Tuesday sent a legal notice to ruling Awami League leader Mahbubul Alam Hanif for derogatory remarks against him (Tarique).
Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Kaisar Kamal sent the notice on behalf of Tarique.
The notice asked Hanif to seek apology in two weeks for the remarks. Otherwise, legal procedure will be taken against him.
Barrister Kamal told banglanews that “we have seen in media on September 6 Hanif commenting that militancy in the country rose from the Hawa Bhaban in 2001”.
The AL leader further commented that Tarique may have relations with the rumor of establishing Al Queda den in Bangladesh.
