DHAKA: The security measures in city were tightened due to the verdict of war crimes convict Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee.
The Supreme Court will deliver its verdict on Wednesday on the appeal filed by death row Jamaat leader Sayedee.
DMP deputy police commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman told banglanews that the law enforcers are kept in alert position in the city to avert any untoward situation.
The law enforcers will also be kept alert in civil dresses to monitor court and other important areas of the city, he added.
On the other hand, Director of Legal and Media Wing of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Mufti Mahmud Khan said RAB personnel are in vigilant to prevent any unwanted situation regarding the verdict.
RAB personnel will try to maintain the law and order in a normal mood, he added.
