DHAKA: Police detained seven activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) from Dhaka University area on Monday morning during the BNP-led 20-party’s daylong hartal.

The detainees are- Shafiqul Islam, 25, Khorshed Alam, 38, Riadh, 23, Tanjilul Rahman Labib, 22, Mostafiz, 22, Soikat Morshed, 21 and Ahasan Habib, 23.

BNP-led 20-party alliance is enforcing the nationwide strike protesting restoring parliament authority to impeach judges.

Confirming the matter, Shahbagh Thana Officer-in-Charge Sirajul Islam said that police detained the activists of student wing of BNP apprehending subversive activities.
