Rain damages BNP rally venue

FROM JAMALPUR: Heavy rainfall have damaged BNP-led 20-party’s rally venue at Zilla School Field adjacent to Jamalpur stadium in the district.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to address the rally scheduled to be held on Saturday noon.

Total venue became muddy and rain water stuck in whole rally field.

BNP leaders visited the field around 7:00am and took some steps to make to ready for rally.

In her address in the rally, Khaleda Zia is likely to press home the demand for mid-term election under non-party caretaker government, stopping murder-kidnapping, cancellation of 16th amendment of the constitution.

Jamalpur BNP president Faridul Kabir Talukdar Shamim will preside over the rally.

Earlier, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia left Dhaka for Jamalpur district on Friday afternoon.

The BNP chief is scheduled to address a mass rally of local 20-party alliance in Jamalpur.

Khaleda Zia started the journey at 4:00pm from her Gulshan residence in the city and reached Jamuna Resort near Tangail’s Bangabandhu Bridge around 8:00pm.
