DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday categorically said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is telling lie against Bangladeshi people.
The premier is also making lie against Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami during her visits in foreign countries.
The spokesperson for the party made the allegation in a program on the 22nd founding ceremony of Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS) at the National Press Club.
Fakhrul also criticized the remarks of the premier as she termed Jamaat a terrorist outfit and set false allegation against the organization during her visits in the foreign countries.
He also claimed that BNP is a democratic party not a terrorist organization. The Awami League (AL) can be called a terrorist party as they are holding power forcibly.
The BNP leader also alleged that the people of the country are now unable to apply their rights as the incumbent government cancelled the caretaker government system with the 15th amendment.
“The ruling AL wants to hold power in any way. For this, they have filed false cases against the BNP leaders and activists. They also started kidnapping and killing to stay in power,” he said.
He said the people would stage demonstration against the incumbent government to restore their basic and voting rights.
Threatening to oust the AL government, he said the BNP would stage cultural movement across the country.
