DHAKA: BNP lawmaker Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, who was sentenced to death for his involvement with crimes against humanity during 1971, was shifted to Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur from Dhaka central jail on Tuesday.
Chief jailor of Dhaka Central Jail part-1 (Kashimpur) Mujibur Rahaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He also said that SQ Chowdhury would be kept in the division cell till the copy of ICT-1 verdict reaches at Kashimpur jail. Later, he will be shifted to condemned cell.
Additional security measures have been taken in this connection.
On April 4 of 2012, the tribunal indicted him for his alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War on 23 counts under different provisions of section 3 (2) of the International Crimes (Tribunals) Act 1973.
