PABNA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday alleged that the then BNP-led four-party alliance government killed and raped Bangladeshi people like Pakistani military forces.
The premier, also ruling Awami League president, came up with the allegation while addressing rally at Rooppur of Pabna in the afternoon.
She also told her audience that the BNP-Jamaat government killed Awami League leaders--Hazrat Ali, Mohasin, Sohel, Farroque, Amjad Razzak, Tipu, Sirajul, Nazrul along with many Juba League leaders.
Hasina also alleged terrorism, extremism and torture on minority was the common scenario during the regime of BNP-Jamaat government.
She added: “BNP and its allies` going to power again would not only be frustrating for war crimes trial, it would also be a big blow to country`s development.”
The premier told her audience: “In future, if BNP and its allies come to power, they would suspend many development and welfare projects undertaken by the present government for country’s overall socio-economic progress.”
Sheikh Hasina said the people get food, shelter, job and healthcare services as well as access to education if Awami League remains in power.
On the other hand, food production decreases and life expectancy of people declines when BNP comes to power, she added.
Prime Minister also urged the people to cast their vote again for the Awami League-led alliance for country`s development, peace and prosperity.
Earlier in the day, she inaugurated the first phase of work for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant at Ishwardi upazila in Pabna.
The power plant would be constructed after maintaining all safety and security measures, the PM said after the foundation stone laying ceremony of the maiden nuclear plant of the country.
She said the project would be implemented after giving the utmost priority to nuclear safety issue.
