DHAKA: By-elections of Barguna-2 (Pathorghata-Bamna-Betagi) constituency will be held on Thursday.
The voting will begin 8.00am and continue till 4.00pm without any break.
Meanwhile, the returning officer has completed all the necessary preparations for a free and fair election.
A total of 231,003 voters will cast vote in 96 centres to elect a member of the parliament in the constituency.
Police Superintendent of Barguna, Shymal Kumar Nath told banglanews that some 27 law enforcers will be deployed at every poll centre.
He added that 20 mobile forces, eight striking forces, 20 Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) teams, 6-platoon BGB and 3-platoon coast guards also will be deployed for the election.
Returning officer Mustafa Faruk said that executive and judicial magistrates, including 4,000 law enforcers, will perform their duty.
Awami League backed candidate Shawkat Hasanur Rahman Rimon and Golam Sarwar Hiru of Islami Andolon are competing in the by-polls.
The parliamentary seat became vacant after MP Golam Sabur Tulu died in a road accident on July 26.
