HABIGANJ: Jatiya Party (JP) President HM Ershad urged people to vote him to power for peace, harmony and stability in the country.

“Please consider me to serve for ‘Islam’ and to evade the ominous spell on countries democratic practice,” he added.

The former President came up with the urge while addressing a rally organized by district Jatiya Party on Friday.

Emphasizing the religion Islam as a path of peace, Ershad said, “I have made the amendments in the constitution and entitled Islam as the state religion during my regime.”

“No significant Islamic development initiatives had been seen so far during Awami League and BNP regime, but it should be noted that I incised the electricity bill for mosques and temples,” he added.
