DHAKA: Opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday proposed the outline of the interim government for holding the next general elections.
“The interim government will be formed by the 10 members from the advisors of the caretaker government of 1996 and 2001 as per the proposal of ruling and opposition parties,” she said.
The former prime minister of the country made the proposal while addressing a press conference at a city hotel in the afternoon.
She told the journalists that her party would form a “government by the people” after the next general elections.
The opposition leader also called upon people to get united to save the democracy and win the freedom from the autocratic government.
She also categorically said the persons who were involved in conspiracy against Zia family would be pardoned.
Regarding the speech of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, she told said
Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Members MK Anwar, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Barrister Jamir Uddin Sircar, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia and Nazrul Islam Khan were among others present at the press meet.
