DHAKA: The ruling Awami League has postponed the press conference scheduled to be held at the party chief’s political office in Dhanmondi on Wednesday.
Deputy Office Secretary of the party Mrinal Kanti Das made the disclosure to banglanews on Tuesday evening.
Earlier in the day, the party announced to hold the press conference as AL received opposition’s proposal letter to discuss about the BNP chief’s new formula on polls-time government.
The announcement came after the AL general secretary acknowledged the receipt of a letter from the 18-party opposition alliance that sought discussion on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s proposal on polls-time interim government.
On Friday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina proposed an election-time all-party government.
Later, on Monday, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia proposed forming a polls-time government comprising 10 advisers from the 1996 and 2001 caretaker governments and an acceptable person as the head of the government through negotiation.
