DHAKA: The International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Thursday deferred the submission date of the formal charge in the case against former Jatiya Party state minister Syed Md Kaiser till November 10.
The three-member ICT-2 led-by Justice Obaidul Hasan passed the order in response to time plea of prosecutor Rana Dasgupta.
Earlier on September 22 the war crimes investigation agency had submitted its probe report against the accused to the prosecution.
Prosecution will submit the formal charge against the accused before the tribunal as after scrutinizing the probe report.
Kaisar, now on bail, was arrested on May 21 for his alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war.
In 1971, Kaisar was a member of Habiganj sub-division Peace Committee and Razakar Bahini commander, according to the prosecution. Kaiser allegedly committed genocide, looting, abduction, rape and so on during the Liberation War.
Earlier on May 21, he was arrested from city’s Apollo Hospital and later on August 5 got bail on condition.
There are around 16 charges against him in a connection of war crimes and the process of justice in underway.
