BNP leaders-diplomats talks

DHAKA: BNP leaders held meeting with diplomats of various countries at a restaurant in capital’s Gulshan area on Thursday.

BNP standing member Dr Moin Khan, BNP Chairperson’s advisory council members Riaz Rahman, Sabi Uddin Ahamed a d Dr Osman Faruk joined in the two-hour long talks.

Ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Singapore and Norway, deputy Ambassador of Japan and Afghanistan, Second Secretary of Indian High Commission Abhijeet Chakrabarti were present in the meeting.

Besides, four officers of US Embassy, press secretary of Pakistan High Commission, two officers each of UK, Germany, Australia, Morocco embassies and UNDP joined the meeting.

Ongoing political situation and ways to overcome the deadlock between ruling Awami League and main opposition BNP over poll-time government and various issues were discussed at the meeting.
