200 BNP men sued in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT: Two cases were filed against 200 BNP leaders and activists with Hatibandha Thana on Saturday noon on charge of vandalizing upazila Awami League office and attacking police and obstructing during discharging their duties.

Sub-Inspector of Hatibandha Thana Riazul Islam and upazila Awami League leader Saiful Islam filed the lawsuits.

General Secretary of upazila BNP Afzal Hossain and general secretary of Hatibandha Press Club Nurul Haque were made accused in the cases filed by Awami League leader, reports banglanews correspondent.

Sources said Chhatra Dal and Chhatra League activists locked into sporadic clashes on Friday evening, leaving at least 10 people injured.

Later, the Chhatra Dal activists vandalized Awami League office at Medical Mor.

Upazila Awami League president Liakat Hossain told banglanews that the general secretary of the press club was made defendant as local journalists did not publish the matter.

Officer-in-Charge of Hatibandha Thana Tapas Sarker confirmed the matter to banglanews.
