DHAKA: Ruling Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim urged the opposition BNP and its ally Jamaat-e-Islami to stop blasting cocktails and creating anarchy across the country in the name of hartal.
He also said: “BNP Chairperson has now emerged as a leader of those who are war criminals and against the liberation of the country.”
Awami League leader also said that in the name of demanding release of political prisoners she was demanding the release of war criminals.
In a press briefing, Nasim came up with these assertions after a meeting of Grand Alliance at the Dhanmondi office of the party president on Monday noon.
Veteran politician said Awami League president took the step for talks, but ignoring the proposal opposition leader called for a 60-hour hartal. They had been blasting bombs, killing and attacking people including Justices and lawyers, he alleged.
He also slammed the opposition for taking sides with the war criminals.
