CHITTAGONG: Jamaat-e-Islami called a dawn-to-dusk hartal in the district for Sunday in protest against killing of its activists of Mirsarai upazila.

The announcement came after joint meeting of Chittagong city, district’s north & south units of Jamaat-e-Islami on Saturday.  

City Jamaat publicity secretary Mohammad Ullah told banglanews, “The hartal will be enforced in port city, upazilas of the district on Sunday. But ongoing Primary School Certificate (PSC) and equivalent examinations 2013 will remain out of purview of hartal.”

Earlier, miscreants chopped an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami to death in Shayerkhali Somity Bazar area under Mirsarai Upazila on Friday midnight.
