DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan on Saturday categorically termed the upcoming elections procedure as staging a “comedy drama”.
The BNP leader made the assertion while talking to journalists at chairperson’s political office at Gulshan in the evening.
He said, “Autocratic spell is prevailing across the country instead of democracy and the recent activities of so called ‘independent’ Election Commission proves it as they are keeping their joker stand after a huge allegations from civil society.”
Nazrul Islam added: “According to media, a total of 142 candidates were elected uncontested. How is it possible and why EC kept silent on the issue?”
