DHAKA: Bangladesh Under-19s crushed Canada Under-19s by nine wickets and 217 balls to spare in the play-off for the ninth place at the Under-19 World Cup. Bangladesh put Canada in after winning the toss and their bowlers made the most of the morning conditions in Abu Dhabi.
Canada`s openers got to 11 before the crash began. They lost six wickets for 17 runs to slump to 28 for 6, before limping to 75. They were dismissed in 27.1 overs. Mustafizur Rahman claimed 3 for 11 for Bangladesh, while Saeed Sarkar and Mehedy Hasan took two each.
Bangladesh made short work of the chase, achieving the target in 13.5 overs. The openers added 73 before Joyraz Sheik was dismissed for 33. He was the only wicket they lost. Shadman Islam was unbeaten on 35.
