Afghanistan's wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz on Monday became the second youngest player in history to achieve eight ODI centuries.

At 22 years and 357 days old, Gurbaz surpassed legends such as Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, and Babar Azam during the third ODI against Bangladesh in Sharjah.

His impressive innings of 101 runs off 120 balls was crucial in leading Afghanistan to a five-wicket victory.

With this milestone, Gurbaz displaced Sachin Tendulkar from the second spot in the youngest to reach eight ODI tons. South Africa’s Quinton de Kock remains the youngest, having reached the landmark at 22 years and 312 days.

Tendulkar achieved this feat at the same age as Gurbaz but a day later, while Virat Kohli reached his eighth century at 23 years and 27 days, and Babar Azam at 23 years and 280 days.

Gurbaz now holds the record for the most ODI centuries for Afghanistan, surpassing Mohammad Shahzad, who has six. Notably, this was Gurbaz’s third century against Bangladesh and also his third in Sharjah, cementing his status as one of Afghanistan's leading players in the 50-over format.
