DHAKA: Visiting Sri Lanka has defeated Bangladesh by 61 runs in the second One Day International (ODI) in Mirpur of the city on Thursday.
Chasing 290-run target, Tigers managed to score 228 runs losing all wickets in 43.0 over at Sher-e Bangla National Stadium.
Earlier, Lankan captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and elected to bat to.
The visitors scored 289 runs after the stipulated 50-over with Sangakkara’s highest 128, Priyanjan’s 60 and Mathews’ 56.
Rubel Hossain bagged three wickets while Shohag Gazi and Shakib Al Hasan and Arafat Sunny got one wicket each.
Visitors added an extra spinner in the XI, by picking Ajantha Mendis to replace the injured Nuwan Kulasekara.
Bangladesh also made one change by bringing in Mashrafe Mortaza in place of Al-Amin Hossain.
Earlier on February 17, Sri Lanka won the first ODI by 13 runs.
