DHAKA: With the third consecutive win against Afghanistan, Sri confirmed their place in the 2014 Asia Cup final on Monday.
Sri Lanka beat the debutant Afghanistan by 129 runs in the 7th ODI of the tournament at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in capital.
Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat. They lost six wickets to score 253 runs. Sangakkara took the highest 76 runs while Mathews and Perera scored 45 and 33 respectively.
In reply, Afghanistan lost all wickets to score 124 runs after the over-38.4 in the day/night match.
Sri Lanka won the first match against Pakistan by 12 runs on February 25 and the second one against India by 2 wickets on February 28.
Before the final match, Sri Lanka will take on Bangladesh in the 10th ODI on March 6.
