DHAKA: With Anamul Haque’s ton, Bangladesh scored highest ever 326 runs in ODI against Pakistan in the Asia Cup tournament at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in capital’s Mirpur on Tuesday.
Apart from Anamul’s 100 off 131 balls, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan took responsible 59, 51, 51 and 44 respectively.
Saeed Ajmal bagged two wickets while Mohammad Talha picked one wicket.
Shakib later said: “I thought I played really well and were very positive. The opening partnership set us up. Obviously the last one month was tough and hopefully today is a new start and hopefully we do well in the bowling. I was practicing hard and I knew I had to perform when I come out. I think it’s a very good track, but a score of 320 will put them under pressure if we pick up early wickets.”
Earlier captain Mushfir Rahim won the toss and elected to bat.
The hosts have made as many as five changes in their side. Shakib Al Hasan, Imrul Kayes, Mahmudullah, Shafiul Islam and Al-Amin Hossain have been included in the playing XI.
Pakistan have made two changes, bringing in Fawad Alam in place of injured Sharjeel Khan, while Abdur Rehman comes in for Junaid Khan.
