Dhaka: Ireland beat Zimbabwe by 3 wickets in the qualifying round of ICC World T20 on Monday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Opener PR Stirling’s 60 runs off 34 balls helped Ireland reach 164-run winning target set by Zimbabwe.
Captain WTS Porterfield scored responsible 31-run.
T Panyangara bagged 4-wicket while TL Chatara and SC Williams took one wicket each.
Earlier in the day, Ireland won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Zimbabwe amassed 163-run loosing five-wicket in their innings.
BRM Taylor scored the first half century (59) of the tournament. He scored 59-run while E Chigumbura and H Masakadza added 22 and 21-run respectively.
GH Dockrell and AR McBrine bagged two-wicket each while AR Cusack took one wicket.
