DHAKA: Bangladesh secured their place on super 10 in World T20 despite their loss against Hong Kong by 2 wickets.
The breathtaking match took place at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong on Thursday.
While chasing 109-run target, Hong Kong managed to score 114 in 19.4 over. Irfan Ahmed scored 34 and Muir Dhar scored 36 runs.
Shakib Al Hasan bagged three and Mahmudullah got two wickets respectively.
Earlier, basing on Shakib Al Hasan’s 34 and Anamul Haque’s 26 runs, Bangladesh struggled to score 108 runs in the first innings.
Bangladesh team jumped to the second phase of the tournament by their points based performance.
However, Hong Kong managed to gain a victory against tigers in an up and down condition of the match. Finally they managed to beat tigers at the very last over by losing eight wickets.
Hong Kong’s Nadeem Ahmed picked 4 wickets while Nizakat Khan got 3 and Tanwir Afzal picked up 2 wickets of Bangladesh.
Earlier in the day Hong Kong won the toss and chose to field first.
