DHAKA: New Zealand defeated Netherlands by six wickets in the 25th match of T-20 world cup at Chittagong Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Saturday.
Chasing 152-run target New Zealand batsmen scored 152 for four wickets keeping six balls in hand.
BB McCullum and KS Williamson scored 65 and 29 runs while Dutch bowler T van der Gugten bagged three wickets.
Earlier, Netherlands scored 151 runs losing four wickets in the stipulated overs.
PW Borren scored 49 and TLW Cooper 40 runs respectively while Kiwi bowlers KD Mills, TA Boult, NL McCullum and MJ McClenaghan bagged one wicket each.
The match started at 3:30 where Kiwi captain Brendon McCullum won the toss and chose to bowl, expecting conditions to become easier for batsmen under lights, despite the dry Chittagong surface.
New Zealand have made two changes to their XI, omitting Tim Southee - who has been expensive in two outings so far - and Colin Munro, who hit 7 against South Africa, in his only innings of the tournament. Left-arm seamer Trent Boult, who hasn`t played limited-overs cricket for New Zealand in over a year, and allrounder Jimmy Neesham enter the side.
Netherlands made no changes to the XI that lost to South Africa by six runs on Tuesday.
