Igloo Corporate T20 Cricket begins Saturday

DHAKA: The Igloo Corporate T20 Cricket Challenge-2014 will kick off on the BUET playground of the city on Saturday.

Former national cricket team captain ASM Rakibul Hasan unveiled the tournament logo at a press conference at the city’s National Press Club on Wednesday afternoon.

Sports management company Next Game and event Management Company D-Evenement, also organizers of the tournament, jointly held the conference.

Rakibul said “At present, much mismanagement is being seen in the cricket, I will inform the Prime Minster because if anything happens to cricket everything would be closed. Our unity has been made of by cricket.”

On the short version of the cricket, he said “T20 doesn’t go with us; there hasn’t lots more to get from it for us”

The organizers, at the briefing, said a total of 24 corporate teams will take part in the tournament, which is going to be held for second time. Each team will play three matches in the first round.

Eight out of 24 teams will be qualified for the quarter final round while four games will be held daily.

Igloo brand manager S Akram Hossain, general manager Shamim Ahammed, Shahida Islam of Dhaka Wasa and D-Evenement` head of corporate communication Sajidur Rahman, among others, were present at the press meet.
