They will face another Asian giant Sri Lanka in the final fight for trophy on Sunday.
India scored 176 runs in reply to South Africa’s 172 for four.
Batsman Virat Kohli scored winning 72-run off 44 balls while AM Rahane scored 32 from 30 balls.
South African bowler BE Hendricks bagged two wickets while Imran Tahir got 1.
Earlier, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur.
South Africa lost 4 wickets to score 172 runs in stipulated 20-over.
F du Plessis scored highest 58 runs off 41 balls while JP Duminy hit 45 runs off 40 balls.
On the other hand, Indian bowler R Ashwin bagged 3 wickets and B Kumar got 1.
