DHAKA: Salma Khatun, captain of Bangladesh women team’s captain, has been listed in the ICC World Twenty20 women’s team for her excellent performance in just-concluded Women World T20 in Bangladesh.
ICC World Twenty20, 2014 was debut for Bangladesh women’s Team. Host Bangladesh beaten Sri Lanka Women by three runs, also lost in previous three matches in the group round. Later it had defeated Ireland by 17 runs.
England’s Charlotte Edwards named as captain for the second consecutive time with their three other players while another finalist Australia contributed two players to the ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014 women’s Team of the Tournament.
A group of experts selected the team on the basis of performances in the tournament only.
Salma, also the best bowler of Bangladesh team, took eight wickets in five matches in this tournament while took 68 runs there with seven ‘Four’ and country’s only ‘Six’.
