Brazil announce World Cup Squad

DHAKA: Brazilian head coach Felipe Scolari has announced the 23-man squad for the World Cup.

Brazil will play in the opening game of the World Cup on June 12 against Croatia, after having arranged friendlies against Panama And Serbia prior to the start of the event.

There were few surprises of note, in what is a star-studded squad by the hosts.

Before announcing the squad Scolari said, "Whether you disagree on a few players won't matter, I ask all Brazilians to support the squad no matter who the names are."

Scolari and the entire nation of Brazil will be hoping these set of players lead the country to a sixth World Cup.

Full Squad: Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar, Jefferson, Victor

Defenders: Dante, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Henrique, Dani Alves, Maicon, Marcelo, Maxwell.
