Sunil Narine took four wickets in his four overs giving away only 20-run.
Shakib was awarded for hitting most sixes in the match.
KKR captain Gambhir praised Shakib and Robin Uthappa for their knocks that set up the match.
Man of the match Uthappa also praised Shakib highly saying, “…The pitch was stopping a bit more. Shots on the rise were not conducive. When Shakib came in, I knew if I rotated the strike, we could get big runs in the end. I did not look at the scoreboard, I just kept batting. Really glad to have Shakib at the other end. I knew I just needed to feed him the strike, he was going hammer and tongs at the spinners in the middle overs.”
Earlier in the day, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field first.
