DHAKA: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched the title of Indian Premier League-7 beating Kings XI Punjab by 3 wickets in the final match on Sunday night.
Chasing a target of 200–run set by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the final match, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) reached the goal with three wickets and balls remaining.
M Pandey, Y Pathan, G Gambhir and Shakib scored 94, 36, 23 and 12 runs respectively to win the match.
Earlier, W Saha’s 115-run off 55-ball helped KXIP to reach 199-run for four wickets in their stipulated 20-over at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore of India.
M Vohra scored 67-run.
PP Chawla took two wickets while U Yadav and Sunil Narine took one wicket each.
Shakib gave away only 26-run in his 4-over quota without taking any wicket.
Earlier KKR captain Gautam Gambhir won the toss and elected to bowl first.
