DHAKA: Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib al Hasan, who plunged himself into another controversy by beating teasers for harassing his wife, might going to face a penalty.
Sources told banglanews that Shakib is going to face fine for breaking Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) rules, but not for raising his hands upon the teasers.
Earlier, on last Sunday, several youths teased Shakib’s wife Umme Ahmed Shishir at the gallery of the Mirpur National Cricket Stadium during the first ODI match between Bangladesh and India.
Later, security guards of Bangladesh Cricket Board beat the youths.
The star himself also joined in beating in person too.
Later, a couple of BCB directors came to know about the incident and dealt it seriously in spite of clapping like many.
Mentioning it as ‘breaking of BCB rules’ they setup a court against the world’s no-1 all-rounder.
On Saturday, sources said that the BCB has finished the hearing in this connection.
Now, they are going to pass the verdict at any moment now, sources added.
They told banglanews that in this verdict, Shakib al Hasan might have to pay a fine for leaving dressing room during the match.
Among others, BCB Directors Akram Khan, Jalal Younus and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nizamuddin Ahmmed Chowdhury were present there.
The BCB directors said there the incident was in itself unfortunate but at the same time admitted that Shakib has committed a serious offence and said this is not how an international cricketer should conduct himself.
Shakib, also regretted for the incident, except seeking the punishment of the teasers.
