DHAKA: United Arab Emirates (UAE) set a small target of 103-run for the defending champion India in the teams’ ICC World Cup Pool B match in Perth on Saturday.
Till filing of this report, India have scored 42 for one in 9 overs at Western Australia Cricket Association Ground.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are at the crease 27 and 5 runs respectively.
Prior to Indian’s innings, UAE scored 102 runs all out in 31.3 overs. Amjad Ali and Andri Berenger began UAE’s innings. Both made early walk to the pavilion.
UAE lost their first three wickets to score 28 runs.
Three UAE batsmen--Anwar, Khan, and Mohammad Tauqir --reached the double digit, scoring 35, 14, and 10 runs respectively.
The fourth double digit came from Indian blowers as extra runs (13 runs) – the third highest of the innings.
Four UAE batsmen – Krishna Chandran, Swapnil Patil, Khurram Khan and Mohammad Naveed, become victims of Ravichandran Ashwin.
Umesh Yadav took two wickets while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohit Sharma bagged one each.
Earlier, UAE captain Mohammad Tauqir won the toss and decided to bat. The match kicked off 12:30pm Bangladesh time.
