DHAKA: Scotland has managed to recover the early loss of wicket after Kyle Coetzer is likely to hit a ton in the teams’ ICC Cricket World Cup Pool A match in Nelson early Thursday.
Till filling this report, Scotland scored 181 runs for three in 35.1 overs.
Scotland lost the wicket of Calum MacLeod early. Mashrafe Mortaza sent him back when the Scottish scored 13 runs in 2.2 overs.
After that, Kyle Coetzer stood firm playing well, and hit a fifty. Kyle and Preston Mommsen are on the crease with 89 runs off 80 balls and 24 runs off 28 balls respectively.
Earlier Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and decided to bowl first. The match kicked off at Saxton Oval at 4:00am Bangladesh time.
Thursday’s match is a crucial one for Bangladesh to stay in the quarter-final race. Mashrafe said he wanted to take advantage of the early moisture in the wicket and chase a low total.
Scotland captain Preston Mommsen also said they would have bowled first but was not overly concerned.
Both matches of the tournament in Nelson - Ireland beating West Indies and Zimbabwe overcoming UAE - have been won by the side batting second.
Scotland are playing with no change to the team. Bangladesh made one change, leaving out Mominul Haque and bringing in allrounder Nasir Hossain, who will be playing his first ODI since August 25 last year.
